The Biggest Loser

Does anyone else watch it? I have for most of the seasons and am planning to tonight. I would like to lose along with the contestants (I have said that every season :) ).

The difference is that I want to keep my weight off, not just lose it for a brief time period. It's, of course, not that the contestants don't want this maintenance too, but what's sad to me is that you later hear or see that the contestants gain their hard-lost weight back after the show. :( It would be so great to lose that much and maintain goal weights like the contestants achieve. Maybe they should have the contestants banded two weeks before the show starts. :)

  2. Its almost too painful to watch. I feel sorry for those folks, seems like they are being exploited in a way. But I usually catch a few episodes.

  5. Oh I'm obsessed too! Mary I used to do that with my mom, but now that I'm living here we're gonna watch on the phone!

I felt like the last season was MY season - it was the one I finally lost while watching, and during this season I'm gonna hit some major goals!

  6. Sorry, but we're those pretentious d-bags who don't have cable and like to go around telling people that we read instead.

Just kidding. We're on a budget and cut cable out of the equation and I keep trying to watch it online, but because I'm in Canada certain TV stations block my IP and won't let me watch (that would be you FOX and affiliates!!!). Seriously, even the free stuff doens't work and no one uplods the episodes onto limewire or torrents. So sad.

So that's my way of saying I would watch if I could and I have a sick fascnation with the show which is thwarted because a) I'm cheap and b) live in this god forsaken snow heap!!!!

Thanks for letting me get that out of my system.

Please watch and enjoy for me :-)

  7. I do watch - but I usually just watch the last half hour b/c nothing happens until then. I'll admit that back in the day I would always somehow end up eating a bowl of ice cream during it. I can not wait until I watch it and do not weigh close to what the contestants weigh. :)

  8. Me too, Linda--about the ice cream!!! Ugh!!!

And I didn't think about it being cable in Canada. It is one of our freebies (at least down South and in the Midwest).

  9. Hi Bandita, thanks for commenting on my blog!

I do live in a small town and work at home as an attorney. I am Veeerrrry lucky, I realize that. My deal is I worked at a firm in a big city on the East Coast for 7 years right out of law school...basically paid my dues, then had babies and quickly realized that was not for me. We moved across the country in part to be closer to family, and I was lucky enough to keep my job on a part-time telecommuting basis. So I now research and write briefs for this same firm on an hourly basis. I bill and get paid about $100 per hour. It is a very sweet arrangement. But, I get paid much less than I would if I had stayed at the firm, even on a part-time basis. I know there are firms out there who rely on contract attorneys. But you are young, in your prime money-making years career-wise (I am thinking you do not have kids, is that right?)

  10. I'm watching! I've read alot about things that happen after the show so while I love it, I feel sad for the people too. I know that for most people keeping up that sort of rigorous exercise routine is next to impossible.

  11. That's the thing, Melly. Short term it seems fine, but is it really sustainable--especially if they aren't at goal when the show wraps (since it won't just be maintenance but real life plus weight LOSS)?
