Just as things really became "real" I was looking at everyone, on the bus, at the mall and thinking: does she know about lap band, if she does has she heard bad things and doesn't want to consider it?

Even at the airport on the way home from being banded a few days ago I kept looking at other women and wondering if they knew about the band.Brookehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12120886921730599132noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9003187612927546935.post-18773384689002367212009-08-09T07:33:46.404-07:002009-08-09T07:33:46.404-07:00I've done it, too. There's a girl in my office that I just saw the other day after a long time(she works from home a lot) and she's gotten really big and dis-proportioned (like a 22 top, but 28 bottom). The first thing I thought was why doesn't she get RYN/band done? The funny thing is her best friend at work had RNY done like two years ago and is super skinny. I guess we all need to hit some sort of bottom before we make this decision.Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07045822533798781579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9003187612927546935.post-5058537860789104362009-08-07T22:36:05.269-07:002009-08-07T22:36:05.269-07:00Oh I do that... now, post-banded. I look at someon...Oh I do that... now, post-banded. I look at someone who's really large and while I'm not judgmental, my view is more: Look at what you can do for yourself. I do love my band (most days anyway lol) and I want the same for them. I feel their misery - and feel like saying. Do this for yourself. You will feel and look 100 percent better.THE DASH!https://www.blogger.com/profile/08658679261310931377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9003187612927546935.post-1979732344921745312009-08-07T19:40:41.365-07:002009-08-07T19:40:41.365-07:00I do this as well. I've always "felt"...I do this as well. I've always "felt" for over weight people. But since this process became real (about a mth pre-op) I became so full of pride and accomplishment in myself, I wondered why other people wouldn't do it. I am logical, I am aware that I "did nothing" for a very long time. So I get that. But I do catch myself saying to MYSELF "why don't they do something about it, they look so miserable, wobbly, and unhappy". I think it's just b/c we've been there and we know what they're feeling. Pre surgery we see them and we just relate to them. Now post surgery, we see them and feel for them. I think it's natural, but that's just me.Liz - Lizzle - Libby Louhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00035562478549837609noreply@blogger.com
